Tracy-Ann Oberman said:I am so delighted that, by popular demand, MOV1936 is coming back into the West End so soon after we finished. Demand has been so high that I feel bringing it back, and this time to the beautiful Trafalgar Theatre and then on a national tour, is essential. The message of my female Shylock – based on my Great Grandma, a widow in the East End standing up to Oswald Mosley and the British Union of Fascists, with all her neighbours and others horrified by the message of BUF – feels more pertinent than ever. The play is about unity, standing together against hatred and the play’s impact has been beyond my wildest hopes and ambitions for it.

Shakespeare’s classic is transported to 1930s Britain in this “striking and impactful” (Guardian) new production that “makes theatre history” (The Telegraph). The play is co-produced by Trafalgar Theatre Productions.

Leicester Curve’s production of A Chorus Line, produced by Jonathan Church Theatre Productions, Sadlers Wells and Leicester Curve opened in Leicester on 5 July.

Originally produced at Curve and Directed by Nikolai Foster, with a book by James Kirkwood and Nicholas Dante, music by Marvin Hamlisch and lyrics by Edward Kleban, A Chorus Line features iconic songs including One, I Hope I Get It, Nothing and the hit ballad What I Did For Love.

The legendary Adam Cooper (Singin’ in the Rain, Matthew Bourne’s Swan Lake) and Carly Mercedes Dyer (The Drifters Girl Tour, Anything Goes, Dreamgirls) reprising their roles as Zach and Cassie which they played to great critical acclaim at Curve in 2021.

A Chorus Line tours to the Lowry for a week before opening at Sadler’s Wells on 2 August. The production will then embark on a short UK Tour to Norwich, Canterbury, Birmingham, Cardiff, Edinburgh, and High Wycombe.
