READ ALL ABOUT THE FESTIVE NEWS
Here’s our monthly round-up of all the news from around TE.
FESTIVAL OF TREES
Swindon Town Centre plays host to a beautiful real Christmas Tree for residents and visitors to enjoy during the festive period this year, thanks to a generous donation from Charlton Park Estate in Malmesbury.
The 20-foot tree, which is situated outside the Town Hall at the top end of Regent Street has been donated in aid of the NSPCC’s Festival of Trees, which for the second-year running will be taking place at the Wyvern Theatre during the run of their Pantomime.
The Wyvern’s event space will be transformed into a magical grotto with dozens of Christmas trees, all beautifully decorated and with an interactive trail for visitors to enjoy.

MIRROR, MIRROR, ON THE WALL…
Mirror, Mirror on the wall, Divina is the fairest of them all! The Wyvern Theatre had the pleasure of welcoming their 2023 panto star, Divina De Campo to Swindon to launch panto season.
During a magical photoshoot at Purton House and Purton House Organics Farm Shop it was clear that they couldn’t have ‘picked’ a better location.
Armed with a basket and an incredibly infectious laugh, Ru Paul’s Drag Race favourite Divina then hit the farm shop aisles for a spot of poisoned apple picking!
G LIVE TEAM HANG THE LIGHTS
An amazing 20ft tree will take pride of place in the foyers at G Live every Christmas from now on! The venue’s event season has also gone on without a hitch thanks to the fabulous Hospitality team, lead by Connor Harper, Brett Bartram, Tatum Evans and Indi Holmes.
AMAZING DISCOVERY IN GLASGOW

The original Glasgow Pavilion plans, signed by the theatre architect Bertie Crewe, have been discovered in a local charity shop and returned to theatre staff. Theatre Manager, Jamie Gordon, said: “This is a really pleasant surprise and we’re delighted with this amazing discovery. We’re going to get the plans professionally copied as some are quite fragile and we don’t want to handle them too much. The originals will then be mounted and framed, and put on display at the Pavilion.”

AND THE AWARD GOES TO…

Congratulation to the team at London Theatre Direct who recently won an award from the Ticketing Industry Social Community (TISC), our ticketing industry peers, for Best Distribution of the Year! This is the first time that LTD have won an award from that industry body, so it’s a great achievement.
And that’s not all… New Theatre Cardiff won the Theatre in Wales Award at the Welsh Hospitality Awards – up against 11 other venues across Wales. Andrew RT Davis MS (leader of Welsh Conservative Group at the Senydd), said: “New Theatre’s accomplishment represents the hard work and effort you demonstrate to place Wales on the map as a real competitor in the worlds of entertainment and hospitality.”
Well done everyone!
