New Stagecoach Partnership Announced!

Stagecoach has teamed up with Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, London to give more people the opportunity to gain a Diploma in Teaching Performing Arts.

For many years Stagecoach has been running the Level 4 qualification which is in line with an undergraduate degree, as a way of upskilling not just the teachers in the vast Stagecoach network, but also the many interested Performing Arts practitioners who have attended from across the globe, who recognise the reputation that Stagecoach has in the Performing Arts education sector.

Chase Demmers, Educational Programmes and Partnerships Manager for Stagecoach said: “There are multiple benefits to this wonderful partnership. Firstly, it is a great way to regenerate the shortage of Performing Arts teachers that has been an ongoing issue since the pandemic and has been heavily felt by the part time Performing Arts education sector. Secondly, this means we can upskill more young people to be able to deliver quality teaching, so they are able to build a strong reputation as a practitioner which will support them in having a portfolio career in between performing contracts.

“We are very excited to be working with such a renowned drama school. Mountview are offering the Diploma in Teaching Performing Arts as a part-time evening class option and is available to current students, Alumni, Stagecoach teachers and anyone else with an interest in gaining a formal qualification in Performing Arts teaching.”

Family fun in Guildford

G Live had an amazing turn out for their free Family Fun Day last weekend!

Megan Sullivan-Moon, Venue Marketing Executive, said: “It was great to see so many families attend, and we loved seeing all their creative crafts and DJ skills.”

H&T Creative also performed some stunning live dance performances around the issues surrounding plastic pollution.

The next Family Fun Day will be on 29 June 2024!

G Live is the best, bar none!

G Live is proud to announce that they have won the Best Bar None Award – Entertainment Venue for the second year running. On 24th October, the team headed down to the Electric Theatre, to celebrate the successes of 34 entrants across Guildford.

The Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner for Surrey presented the team with their award, and the celebration that not only had they won, they had improved their compliance by over 10% and now score 97% overall.

The team at the venue are honoured to deliver an ongoing partnership with Experience Guildford, and the ability to offer spaces in kind to training courses such as Ask for Angela, Safe Spaces and an abundance of other management specific training, enabling businesses around Surrey to provide a safer provision for the community.

Did you know that Guildford is the country’s 4th safest borough, completely aided by the training provisions listed above.

Down the rabbit hole!

Last month, the Cliffs Pavilion in Southend held the annual ball for Leigh-on-Sea Striders Running Club.

The team disappeared down the rabbit hole for a brilliant Alice and Wonderland themed event. This included a 3 course, themed dinner for 120 people, with a bespoke menu created by Head Chef Ross McDonald and Executive Sous Chef Gabriella

Highlights of the event were the Alice in Wonderland photo props, themed mini golf and croquet, and an entrance through the rabbit hole tunnel. Joe Howgate (Events Assistant Manager) and the team worked together to provide another memorable evening in the Maritime and Admiral’s Rooms.

In tribute to Bill

And finally, some of our theatres were lit in blue on 26 October, while others dimmed their lights, as part of a nationwide tribute to legendary theatre producer Bill Kenwright CBE who sadly passed on 23 October. The blue was used to highlight Bill’s connection to Everton FC.
