Here’s a round-up of all the big event cinema moments coming up from Trafalgar Releasing.

A LITTLE LIFE

James Norton (Happy Valley, Grantchester) stars in the ‘utterly compelling’ (★★★★★ Daily Express) theatrical event of 2023 as visionary director Ivo van Hove (A View from the Bridge) stages the English language premiere of A Little Life. Filmed live at the Savoy Theatre, London, during its West End run, this record-breaking and ‘beautifully acted’ (★★★★ The I) production of the million-copy bestseller by Hanya Yanagihara comes to the big screen for a limited time only from 28 September.

THE HIDING PLACE

Adapted from the autobiographical book, this powerful cinematic presentation of The Hiding Place was filmed for cinema audiences in Nashville, Tennessee. World War II. Darkness has fallen over Europe, and the boots of the Third Reich echo through the streets. But on a quiet city corner in the Netherlands, some choose to resist. Corrie Ten Boom and her family risk everything to hide Jewish refugees by the hundreds, and they ultimately face the consequences when they are discovered. In UK cinemas on 16 August

MATTHEW BOURNE’S SWAN LAKE

Matthew Bourne’s Swan Lake returns to cinemas and is ‘as bold and beautiful as ever’ (★★★★★ Telegraph). This thrilling, audacious and witty production is perhaps still best known for replacing the female corps-de-ballet with a menacing male ensemble, which shattered convention, turned tradition upside down and took the dance world by storm. Retaining the iconic elements of the original staging loved by millions around the world, Matthew Bourne and award-winning designers Lez Brotherston (Set & Costumes) and Paule Constable (Lighting) have created a ‘spellbinding’ (★★★★★ Independent) re-imagining of this classic New Adventures production. In cinemas from 13 September.
