UNIQUE EVENTS AT THE CHISWICK CINEMA
Staying true to its mission, The Chiswick Cinema continues to offer unique in-house events for the local community. Here’s the latest news!
KAREL REISZ SEASON Q&A
Vanessa Redgrave and Stephen Frears wowed audiences at a special Q&A session after the screening of Morgan: A Suitable Case for Treatment on 26 March, the last in the season of four films shown for the Karel Reisz retrospective season at The Chiswick Cinema.
The four films have been about as different as they possibly could have been: documentary We are the Lambeth Boys, his breakthrough ‘kitchen sink’ northern drama Saturday Night and Sunday Morning, psycho thriller Night Must Fall, and a typical 1960s flight of fancy Morgan: A Suitable Case for Treatment.
Stephen Frears (BAFTA and Emmy award winning director of My Beautiful Launderette, Dangerous Liasons and The Queen, amongst others), worked as Karel Reisz’s assistant on this film.
For Vanessa Redgrave it was her first film, “This was the first film I made and it came as a surprise. I was at a Royal Court party and I’d done my hair and makeup and that’s when Karel met me and asked me to do it. It was a total surprise. It was special because Karel was so special. It’s an extraordinary, wonderful, unique film.”

SU2C: CELEBRITY HUNTED Q&A
Katya Jones (Strictly Come Dancing winner) and Aimee Fuller (Winter Olympian and broadcaster), the stars of Channel 4’s hit show Celebrity Hunted will be making an appearance at the cinema for a special evening raising money for Stand Up To Cancer.
Tickets are complimentary with donations collected for SU2C on the night. An admin booking fee is charged to encourage responsible booking, and this will be donated to SU2C by The Chiswick Cinema.
The Grierson Award winning and BAFTA nominated factual entertainment thriller, Celebrity Hunted, recently returned to Channel 4 for a brand-new fifth series. Ten participating celebrities attempt to stay off the radar and remain at large for two weeks as a new crack team of hunters try and hunt them down. With former police officers, intelligence, and army personnel hot on their tail and faces recognisable across the UK, will they be able to remain undetected?
