YOUR HOPES FOR 2023
This month, we asked TE staff to tell us about their hopes for the year ahead.
Matilda Dwyer – Theatre Royal Sydney
My hope for 2023 is somehow getting to New York City to see Josh Groban in Sweeney Todd on Broadway! I am also hoping for happy and healthy year with family and friends.
Melody Duan – Theatre Royal Sydney
My goal for the year is to focus on health: exercise more and eat better.
Kay Hadley – Orchard Theatre, Dartford
As me and my best friend are turning 40 in 2023, we’ve set ourselves the goal to complete a bucket list of 40 “things” which includes going horse riding, llama hiking, zip lining, 10k run, getting a tattoo and swimming in the sea. We’re starting with rock climbing in January, but it’s not all adventure. I’m most looking forward to the spa day, West End trips and an afternoon tea!

Laura Bateman – White Rock Theatre, Hastings
After many years of being engaged, we are hoping to finally tie the knot! We look forward to hosting a party for all our White Rock friends and I finally get the same surname as my girls!
Richard Patch – Orchard Theatre, Dartford
In regards to New Year resolutions and personal goals, last year I managed to read the entire works of Shakespeare and I fell in love with reading all over again so I want to read more this year, spend more time with my elderly Gran (where possible) and generally become a better person and become better at my job.

Lydia Addison – White Rock Theatre, Hastings
After joining a local community beekeeping group during the summer of 2022, my hope for this year is to take this interest a step further by getting my own hive and successfully managing it in on a local allotment site.

Charlotte Young – Beck Theatre, Hayes
My hope is to see 100 shows this year, which works out around three a week. I had the same target for last year and reached 84!
Steve Sergeant – Beck Theatre, Hayes
My hope for the year is that my puppy, Truffle, will agree to go for walks even if it’s raining. At the moment she insists on being carried!
